Our church building was engulfed in flames at 3:00 AM on November 30, 2012.
Perhaps our most important question during this time is theological. “Why, O Lord?” We will submit it all to the glory of God, even though we cannot grasp the “hows”. Pastor Myron Heckman recently preached a series on Hebrews 11, the Faith Chapter. It tells us that "without faith it is impossible to please God.” So in order to please God we will press on convinced of His faithfulness. As we are instructed, we will keep “our eyes fixed on Jesus."
It was our building that was destroyed, not our real church, the people united by faith with Christ.
Our hearts are torn but we are reminded that:
And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it. - Matthew 16:18

Sunday Church Service
Services are held each Sunday at 10:30 AM at the Stony Brook Elementary School
on 384 Underpass Rd. in Brewster. We have nursery and Jr. Church for
K through 2nd grade. We are considering provisions for a Bible School but do not have one at this
time.

Our building was totally consumed by the flames. Our theme now is "beauty for ashes". We have a lot of ashes, so may God grant us even more of His beautiful gifts.
